iDubai
iDubai Photography Exhibition @ The Arch Gallery is based on Alastair Newton Brown’s unique ‘iPhonographic’ portfolio of Dubai and elsewhere.
iDubai is a concept conceived by Alastair to create a collaboration between the Dubai public and Repton School students to produce an extraordinary collection of mobile phone photographs of Dubai.
Recently, ‘iPhonography’ (or ‘mobile phone street photography’) has become incredibly popular throughout the world. Increasingly, people are interpreting their lives through the use of mobile phone cameras. The mobile phone camera is discreet, abundant, easily accessible and highly practical, making it the perfect tool to profile something as large as a city.
THE AIM: To accumulate and exhibit the largest collection in the world of mobile phone photographic images.
YOUR MISSION: Take one photograph on your mobile phone that reflects any aspect of life in Dubai.
WHEN: Closing date for submissions is 5.00pm, Tuesday 20th June, 2010.
HOW: Submissions for selection and printing should be made to Alastair Newton Brown, alastair.brown@reptondubai.org. The submission should be a JPEG file that includes your name, the title of the photograph and the date it was taken.
NB: All images will be printed 8cm x 6cm and mounted on black card by The Arch Gallery staff for display at the exhibition.
For more information, contact Michael Cooper, Curator, The Arch Gallery and Head of Art at Repton via 'michael.cooper@reptondubai.org'; or visit www.aenbrown.com; or email Alastair Newton Brown via 'alastair.brown@reptondubai.org.'
