what is traffic?

traffic is a 7,000-sq-ft design gallery, with a library, gift shop and event space located in Al Barsha, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the first design gallery in the Middle East that displays products and works, both from world-renowned designers and from up-and-coming regional talents.

The extensive array of avant-garde products, from furniture to fashion accessories, are displayed in a unique venue that also provides an inspiring environment for designers, creative professionals and collectors. The more than 300 handpicked items include furniture, objects, accessories, fashion and jewellery.

With the work of more than 100 designers – including Marcel Wanders and the Bouroullec brothers – and dozens of brands such as Cappellini and Magis on offer, as well as its own take on interior design, traffic creates a unique retail experience that addresses the growing market and the region for products that allow the full expression of individuality. There is a showroom for larger items and a gift shop for smaller accessories.

As such, traffic provides a one-stop-shop for specifiers of all types, from personal shoppers to architectural and design firms, who are looking to create one-of-a-kind spaces, whether in residential or commercial settings.

Not only does traffic display a wide range of products, but its library houses an extensive collection of design-related books, directories, catalogues and magazines. The library encourages visitors to take their time browsing the many volumes on hand, to dialogue with other designers, or to meet with clients to discuss projects and select products from the many directories at hand.

The event space features work from leading international designers and local talents in the fields of interior, fashion, product and graphic design, as well as architecture. traffic also will use the space to host lectures and workshops on topics related to these fields.

Also on permanent display is a growing private collection of artworks and design pieces, collected by traffic’s founder Rami Farook.
