Abu Dhabi – In a magical night, the German superstar violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter performed in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi last Saturday night as part of the second season of Abu Dhabi Classics organised by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) from 23 October 2009 till next May.

Mutter constantly been acclaimed for her technical perfection, burnished tone and emotional depth by critics and audiences all over the world even since conductor Herbert von Karajan discovered her as a 14-year-old prodigy some three decades ago.

In this concert, Mutter presented three magnificent piano trios from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, joined by her distinguished chamber music partners: American pianist Lambert Orkis- with whom she made a Grammy-winning complete recording of the Beethoven Violin Sonatas as well as of all the Mozart Violin Sonatas- and young German cellist Daniel Muller-Schott- with whom she has recorded the Mozart and Mendels- sohn trios being performed here. The melodious, neo-romantic new piano Trio by composer-conductor-pianist Andre Preven, one of the greatest musicians of our time, was premiered in April 2009 at New York’s Carnegie Hall during celebrations of his 80th birthday.
