Bidoun has some openings for immediate and longer-term internship and other temporary positions opening up over the next few months, as they finalise curating and installing Bidoun-run projects at Art Dubai. (Bidoun Projects is the curator this year of the non-commercial programming at the fair – this involves the staging of a group exhibition, library, a series of new artists’ commissions and special projects, and the Art Park, a dynamic space for film, video and discussion.)

Experience is handy and sometimes required but comes second to enthusiasm, dedication, organization and reliability. Arabic or Farsi is not required (unless specified) but is useful. An interest (read: passion) for contemporary art and artists is a must. It’s a great opportunity to get involved with a dynamic organization and Dubai’s biggest annual arts event and gain a lot of experience.
The positions available include:

-Projects Coordinator (helping to organize talks, liaising with artists and speakers): start date is as soon as possible; 2-3 days/week, then full-time March 7-20

-Bidoun Projects Intern (assisting the curatorial team, great opportunity to learn about exhibition-making and working with artists, across the board): start date is as soon as possible; 2-3 days/week, then full-time March 7-20

NB this is an Emirati-priority position
-Production assistant/artist liaison (hands-on position, working with artists to realize their projects): March 7-20, full-time
-4-5 interns to help man the Bidoun booth, the library, and Art Park during the fair, March 16-20: great experience and access to everything happening at the Fair

Interns/volunteers will be guided through their tasks/responsibilities, and will have goals to fulfill, and the positions will be in part tailored to their needs.
There are also a series of internships available at Bidoun Magazine, the publication field of Bidoun, for the spring semester.

These include positions as a Publishing Intern, who will assist in nearly every aspect of the magazine, with primary focus given to the publishing side of the magazine with some editorial work from time to time; an Advertising Intern, who should be an undergrad with an interest in advertising, marketing, sales, sponsorships, and/or business development; and a Creative Intern, who should be interested in magazines, publications and their production processes.
